February 5, 2019

The C-RCS Choral Drama Club presents Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday March 17.

The classic tale of “Beauty and the Beast”  tells the story of a spoiled and selfish prince who has been magically transformed into an unsightly beast as punishment for his selfish ways. To revert into his true human form, the Beast must first learn to love.

After turning down a proposal of marriage from the boorish Gaston (Andrew Baron), Belle (Rachel Comstock) learns from Gaston’s sidekick, Lefou (Izzy Lasky), that her father, Maurice (Ross Arvin), is missing. She goes in search of him and finds him imprisoned in the castle of the Beast (Connor Mahar). After butting heads with the Beast, Belle gets her father released on the condition that she now stays at the castle. The castle servants, Lumiere (Carrie Ackerman), Cogsworth (Joshua Harrington), Mrs Potts (Hannah Richards), Chip (Katie Flood), Madam De La Grande Bouche (Emma Panzara) and Babette (Alyssa Pacatte) are excited to have a girl in the castle. They soon take matters into their own hands with the hope that the curse will soon be broken and they will return to their human form. With their help, Beast woos Belle into loving him and at the same time he has also learned to love.
