Promoting literacy through theater and (many, many) books

June 1, 2017

Tstudent holding a star wars bookhanks to the support of CREST, Radez and Ryder students, along with Mrs. Breslin and Mrs. Lasher’s middle school classes had the pleasure and wonderful opportunity to see the touring production of The Palace Theatre’s musical performance of the “Magical Adventures of Flat Stanley” recently at the Golding MS Auditorium.

In an effort to support and promote literacy, each student also received a book to take home through the collaboration between NYSUT, CRTA, and the First Book organization so that they could have a new reading adventure of their own.

“I’d like to extend special thanks to the C-R faculty, staff, administration, CREST, and the C-R Facilities & Transportation Department for their amazing support,” said C-R Speech-Language Pathologist Wanda Ruenes. “Together we were able to obtain two pallets of books from the First Book organization, which included over 3,400 wonderful books that will be given to our C-R students during many school events and functions held throughout the year.”
