A brief synopsis of this year’s play:
Night at the Wax Museum in the Golding Middle School Theatre.
School’s out for summer, but not for some unlucky students who don’t know much about history. They have to retake the class in summer school! Their teacher, Heather Fairchild, has arranged for them to help her two aunts and the Historical Society and the museum handyman, who happens to be Heather’s old boyfriend, set up a new wax museum as a class project. The students aren’t thrilled about the prospect of spending their summer doing work.
But when a mysterious incantation from the back of Cleopatra’s bracelet brings the wax figures to life, things get a whole lot more exciting! King Henry VIII is infatuated with Cleopatra, which makes his queen, Anne Boleyn, furious. She then turns to John Adams to be her divorce attorney!
Meanwhile, Butch Cassidy, Sundance Kid , Calamity Jane Pancho Villa and a few other outlaws, Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Madame Ching and a couple of other pirates show up looking to find the supposed treasure hidden in the museum. Soon everyone, including a greedy landlord and her bumbling son and girlfriend, is in a mad search to find it. And to add more mayhem to the confusion, Lizzie Borden is also running around, with an axe, and there is no wax figure of her!
To see who finds the treasure and what Lizzie Borden is up to, come join us on Nov 1 or 2 in the Golding Middle School Theatre. Doors open at 6:30pm and curtain is at 7pm. Tickets are available at the door: $4 for students/seniors and $6 for adults.
