Class of 2019 important end-of-year dates and information

June 18, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians and Seniors:

It’s hard to believe that graduation is right around the corner!  This letter provides important information as we near the finish line.

The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the High School Theatre. A video telecast of the ceremony will be provided in the Gymnasium.  The video and audio quality of past year’s telecasts has been excellent.

Seniors will have the opportunity to honor any K-12 staff or faculty member from the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District whom they feel has made a difference in their educational and/or personal life.  Honorees will receive an invitation for the June 29, 2019 commencement ceremony, sent by the High School Office Administration, on the student’s behalf.  Depending upon the number of responses, honorees may be asked to sit in the Gymnasium during the ceremony.  We hope you will consider taking advantage of this unique opportunity to honor a dedicated staff or faculty member who has helped you reach this special day.  Please see attached for instructions.

A graduation on the High School campus is a substantial undertaking.  The large number of graduates, family, and friends in attendance presents challenges for vehicular traffic flow, parking, and access to facilities to assure an enjoyable graduation experience.  Please carpool when possible.  Handicap parking areas are available on the east and west sides of the building.  In the interest of safety and courtesy to others, strollers, book bags, camera tripods or other large items are not permitted in the Theatre.

Graduation rehearsal including the class picture is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019.  Seniors must bring their caps, gowns & tassels and report to the Theatre by 8:00 a.m.  All students must attend the graduation rehearsal.

Graduates will be given four general admission tickets for the Theatre and, if requested, up to three Gymnasium video broadcast tickets at the conclusion of the graduation rehearsal.  If a graduate does not need the four allotted Theatre tickets, please return them to my attention.  Requests for additional tickets, subject to availability, should be made in advance to Mrs. Ferguson in the High School Office.

Graduates are expected to arrive not later than 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 and assemble in the Library.  The administrative entrance to the building and the Library corridor area will be closed to the general public as graduates prepare for the ceremony.  Family and friends holding Theatre tickets must enter through the Theatre wing (east side) and those with video telecast tickets through the Gymnasium entrance (west side).  A ticket must be presented to enter the building.  Children in attendance must have a ticket.  Please retain your ticket for re-entry should you have need to leave the specific location once admitted.  Doors will open for general admission at 12:15 p.m.

A separate correspondence from the Senior Class Advisors discussing end of year activities is below.  We are looking forward to a memorable graduation ceremony.

Sincerely,

Brett W. Barr

High School Principal
