C-R track teams excel at Colonial Council meet

The C-R track and field program placed sixth at the Colonial Council Championship meet.

Congratulations to the Cobleskill-Richmondville High School girls’ and boys’ indoor track and field team, which finished sixth at the Colonial Council Championship Meet on Feb. 2 at the University at Albany. Among the highlights were Olivia Chamberlain’s wins in both the long jump (17-01.75) and triple jump (36-01.00). 

On the girls’ side, Taylor Schroeder placed fifth in the long jump with a 14-09.50. Emily Johnson took first in the weight throw (24-06.50) and fifth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:49.44. Hannah Rose-Foote placed fourth in both the shot put (24-09.00) and weight throw (22-07.00). In the 4×200 relay, the team of Adamoschek, DesRoches, Dunham and Schroeder placed sixth with a 2:03. The 4×400 team of Johnson, Chamberlain, DesRoches and Dunham was fifth with a 4:53.69. 

The boys’ team placed fourth out of 11 teams. Nick Yorke was second in the 600 with a time of 1:32.04, and David Nicholas was fourth (1:35.07). Isaiah Gerhardt finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a 8.29 and third in the 55-meter dash with a 6.79. The boys 4×200 team of Nicholas, Nicholas, Yorke and Lalor was first with a 1:43. The 4×400 team of Nicholas, Yorke, Griffith and Lalor placed fifth with a 4:01.33. Daniel Nicholas placed fourth in triple jump with a 37-03.25, and Kieran Maillard came in fifth with a 36-06.50. Daniel Nicholas also placed fifth in the long jump with a 16-09.25. Ross Arvin took third in shot put with a 38-09 and second in weight throw with a 36-01.50. Nate Bartlett was fifth in weight throw with a 21-02.

The Bulldogs head back to UAlbany for the Section II championships on Feb. 17.
