Would you like to provide input into next year’s school budget? Then please consider volunteering for the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District Citizens’ Budget Committee (CBC). Community input is important in developing a sound and responsible spending plan that best meets the needs of our students. We value the thoughts and ideas you may introduce because your feedback provides us with a clearer understanding of the community’s expectations.
The CBC will meet four times from January to March to study and advise the district’s administration and board on the district’s general fund budget for the 2017-2018 school year.
The committee will meet in the Golding Middle School Library at 155 Washington Ave. in Cobleskill on the following dates:
No previous experience is required to serve on the CBC but participants will be expected to: a) attend all of the meetings; b) review the material provided in preparation of the subsequent meeting; c) solicit input from friends, neighbors, and community; and d) engage in constructive dialogue about the issues and elements of the district financial plan.
Finalizing the 2017-18 budget will be challenging, but with your participation we will receive ongoing feedback from district residents that will be very helpful. Won’t you please join us this year?
Depending on the number of applicants, not all volunteers may be selected to serve on this year’s Citizens’ Budget Committee. If you would like to be considered, please contact Ruth Van Deusen in the District Office at 234-4032, extension 2000 or email@example.com by January 4, 2017. The Board of Education is expected to appoint members of the CBC at its January 9, 2017 meeting.
