Supply lists for grades 1 and 2

Grade 1

Congratulations on completing the school year!  You should be very proud of yourself! First grade will be lots of fun and we will learn so much. You will need a few things in order to be prepared to start school in September:

  • A backpack (no wheels)
  • Small plastic pencil box (about 4″x6” in size)
  • 2 sturdy/vinyl 2-pocket folders
  • 1dozen sharpened pencils (plain yellow #2 pencils work best)
  • box of 24 crayons
  • 2 or 3 big erasers
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1box of  tissues (for classroom use)
  • 1 pair of scissors

 

The following items are specific to a certain teacher:

Mrs. Dorgan: none

Mrs. Ellithorpe: 1 composition notebook, 1 extra folder (3 total)
Boys – 1 box of quart-size zip baggies
Girls= 1 box of snack-size zip baggies

Mrs. Haslun: 2 composition notebooks, 1container Clorox Wipes, 1 bottle hand sanitizer
Boys = 1 box of quart-size zip baggies
Girls= 1 box of gallon-size zip baggies

Ms. Mundell (Slater):  1 container Clorox Wipes
Boys= 1box of quart-size zip baggies
Girls= 1box of gallon-size zip baggies

Mr. Rice: 1 composition notebook
Boys= 1 box of quart-size zip baggies
Girls= 1 box of gallon-size zip baggies

Mrs. Truesdell: none

Please leave home any items that are not on this list.

***Perhaps you can make a homework toolbox since pencils, crayons, scissors, an eraser and pencil sharpener may be necessary for different homework tasks as a first grader.

We are very excited about starting first grade with you in September!  We look forward to getting to know you and your family throughout the school year. In the meantime, have a happy, safe and fun summer!

Grade 2

Pencils with good erasers ( a good supply for the year—have at least 3 dozen at home and send your child with 6 already sharpened for the first few weeks-send more as needed)

  • A box of 24 count crayons
  • 2 marble composition notebooks (please no wire bound or tear out sheets)
    3 boxes of tissues
  • Scissors
  • 6 glue sticks (if you get a deal buy more and keep them at home)
  • 3 sturdy plastic pocket on the bottom folders (there is no need for a binder or
    organizer)
  • A plastic crayon box to hold pencils, crayons, scissors and other small supplies
  • 1 container of disinfecting wipes
  • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
  • wedge erasers

••As you shop for backpacks, please be aware that your child will have a locker next year. Backpacks with wheels do not fit in our lockers.  If your child is purchasing a new backpack, please have them pick one without wheels
