March Math Madness a great success

March 11, 2017

Golding Middle School held its first annual March Math Madness Night on Thursday March 9!

For the past 6 years, the math department has held Math Mystery Night, in which students solved math problems in order to receive clues to solve a mystery.

In order to spice things up a bit, the theme was changed this year to March Math Madness and was based off of the television show “The Amazing Race.” Students and their families ran around the school in order to find each challenge.

When students solved the challenge correctly, their passport was stamped and they would move onto the next room. The first teams to have their passports stamped with eight stamps and make it back to the gymnasium were the champions!

The winners were as follows:

Overall winner: Dylan S. Becker

6th Grade:  Ava Webber

7th Grade:  Dylan S. Becker

8th Grade:  Samira Aliewie

The math department at Golding Middle School would like to thank the Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation for helping make the event possible!
