Buzzing about bees

May 28, 2018

Bob Montione is a master beekeeper who visits the Radez Library each year and work with Radez Librarian Laura Gagnon to teach 3rd graders about magnificent honeybees.

They teach students about bee physiology, hive structure, and how beekeepers extract honey from a hive. Students are always amazed by the life of bees and the wonderful world of beekeeping.

The students observed honeybees and learned the “waggle dance,” which is how bees communicate to each other the location of flowers.
