The Cobleskill-Richmondville Board of Education has appointed Mr. Eric Whipple as its new principal at the Joseph B. Radez Elementary School, effective August 31, 2017.

Mr. Whipple has served as K-12 principal at Jefferson Central School since 2012.  Previously, he served as an elementary teacher at the Delaware Academy (Delhi Central School) for seven years.

A veteran principal, Mr. Whipple possesses tremendous breadth and depth of experience administering academic, co-curricular, and faculty development programs.  Under his leadership, Jefferson implemented a successful behavioral intervention program, an after-school homework help program, and an improved Response to Intervention (RTI) model. He’s also served as the district’s data coordinator and chief information officer, and supervised home school instruction.

“I’d like to extend thanks to the many individuals who served on our three interview teams.  I’d especially like to thank the five students from Radez who served on our student leadership panel,” said Superintendent Carl Mummenthey. “The input and guidance from our search teams was invaluable to us as we selected Mr. Whipple from a pool of accomplished finalists.”

Mr. William Wolfanger, former director of pupil and personnel services at C-R, will continue to serve as interim principal and transitional administrator at Radez through the summer.

“I’m confident Mr. Whipple will provide strong and skilled leadership at Radez Elementary School,” said Mummenthey. “I am eager to welcome him to our leadership team in August.”
